Food and Beverage Tutor Assessor Feb/March 2025 start

Based in HMP Highpoint, Stradishall, Newmarket, Suffolk

7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday (No Friday working)

£25k plus £2k location uplift - Permanent 4 days a week plus great benefits including birthday off after first year of service plus 4 loyalty days after 5 years of service, equivalent to 5 weeks holidays plus bank holidays per year, ongoing training, professional development and mentoring opportunities

As a tutor, you’ll guide and assess learners through food and beverage certifications, sharing your knowledge and preparing them for work in the sector. Your support helps learners build confidence and open doors to future employment, making a tangible difference in their lives and communities.

Our training provider delivers high quality training and assessments to meet contractual requirements, awarding body standards and in-line with policies and procedures. You will join a brilliant team where you will be given full support throughout.

Please note all applicants will need to be prepared to undergo prison security clearance.

Do you have experience of delivering Food and Beverage and/or levels 1 and 2 ? Do you have experience of delivering small workshops to groups and have an assessor qualification ? If yes, this could be your next move.

Your role will be to deliver a high quality vocational competency based curriculum up to a Level 2 utilising awarding body standards/criteria, fully understanding the standards for the awards being delivered and assessed.

Have you worked as a trainer/instructor/tutor within a hospitality environment with significant experience of working I restaurants, coffee shops, cafes etc.. but you don’t have your A1 qualification ? Our client will help you gain your A1 qualification.

You will ensure that all learner records are accurate and maintained in line with policies and procedures, GDPR and contractual requirements.

Making sure a full caseload of learners (in line with contract) is maintained at all times with the generating of starts through excellent communication skills and relationship building with learners and prison staff. You will help overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learners needs. Ensure all learners complete timely in line with our clients delivery model and programme specification. Your role will include monitoring student attendance and progress through regular learner assessment and reviews. Ensuring all completed portfolios are submitted for IQA within 5 days of learner completion.

To apply for the role of Food and Beverage Assessor we need you to hold either a recognised Assessor award: D32/33, A1, CAVA or TAQA OR Teaching qualification (PGCE or CertEd) and ideally have experience of managing a caseload of at least 30 learners (per quarter). A good level of IT skills. Flexibility to work at multiple locations. Full, current driving licence and use of a vehicle, which is insured for business use.
