Description

The Financial Controller will report directly to the directors and play a key role in the senior leadership team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the implementation of effective financial strategies and controls.
  
Key Accountabilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance
Develop and support budgeting and forecasting activities   Regulatory Compliance and Auditing:

Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Liaise with external auditors and coordinate the audit process
Develop, maintain, and update internal control procedures  Cash Flow Management:

Monitor and manage the organization’s cash flow
Develop cash management strategies to optimize financial resources  Taxation:

Oversee tax planning and compliance activities
Coordinate with external tax advisors as necessary Team Leadership and Development:

Supervise and mentor the finance team
Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment Strategic Planning:

Contribute to the financial strategic planning of the organization
Provide financial insights to support business decision-making Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements in financial operations and the broader business
Implement best practices in financial management Candidate Requirements: 

You should have:

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or be Qualified by Experience
Previous experience within the Motor trade
3 -5 years of experience in financial management in a similar role
Strong business acumen
Good knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel You should also be a dynamic, forward-thinking, solutions focussed team player, who delivers:

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Strong leadership and team management skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Attention to detail and accuracy Hours: 40 hours per week 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
Salary: £50,000 Per Annum
