We are currently working with a UK-wide structural and civil engineering consultancy as they look to add a Senior Façade Engineer to their division in Southend-on-Sea.

The consultancy regularly undertake the façade design of prestigious projects across a range of sectors including education, stadia, transport, residential and commercial for a range of clients from scheme concept through to detailed design and construction monitoring. They are looking for a bright, enthusiastic and driven engineer who has graduated with a degree in civil or structural engineering but would like to develop a career in façade engineering.

In this role, you will execute and coordinate projects, providing high quality technical design, whilst alsoproducing technical design information, including drawings, calculations, specifications and reports. In addition to this, you will review and approve reports, designs, drawings, sketches and calculations in accordance with quality procedures. You will also manage the preparation of feasibility studies and reports. You will also undertake sturectural surveys and produce reports giving findings, discussions, conclusions and recommendations.

In addition to the above, you will undertake project management and financial control of small and medium sized projects. You will liaise effectively with clients, local authorities and other design team members.

To be successfull in this role, you will possess either a bachelor's degree or HND/HNC in civil or structural engineering. You will have an innate understanding of structural engineering and facade physics, as well as a very good understanding of engineering principles. You will be competent with computer analysis of structures and design of structural elements in steel, stainless steel, aluminium, timber and glass. You will also have experience of briefing CAD technicians.
