We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our team in Chichester, West Sussex on a full-time, permanent basis.

About the role:

As a Finance Manager, you will take on the pivotal role in managing the finances of our two sister companies, Nicola Jane and Browns. In this varied and rewarding position, you will oversee core financial operations, support budget holders, provide critical financial insights, and manage the payroll process. Working closely with our Managing Directors and Finance Assistants, you will play a key part in maintaining and improving the financial systems that drive our success. This role offers excellent opportunities for knowledge sharing and professional development, making it ideal for someone with great attention to detail who thrives in a collaborative environment.

This role is full-time, working hours are Monday – Friday, generally 9am-5pm with 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Hours can be flexible. You will work from our Nicola Jane office in Chichester. Hybrid working will be available after a successful probation period.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Producing accurate monthly management accounts and balance sheet schedules.
Maintaining reconciliations for sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring alignment with our CRM system.
Ensuring timely supplier payments and daily bank reconciliations.
Monitoring cash flows, preparing VAT/CIS returns, and highlighting financial issues at the weekly SMT meeting.
Driving improvements in our financial systems and supporting the finance team.
Managing ESG emissions data and providing commercial support for contracts and pricing.
Travelling regularly between our South West and North Essex offices for collaboration and meetings.

About you:

You will be a proactive and organised finance professional with a CIMA/ACCA qualification and at least 5 years of experience in a growth-focused SME. Your commercial acumen is complemented by excellent communication skills that enable you to present ideas confidently and influence key stakeholders. You thrive on understanding the intricacies of business operations and are eager to enhance the finance function for maximum impact. Previous roles could include Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or Head of Finance. Proficiency in Sage packages, Microsoft Office, and Excel is essential.
