SANZA Teaching Agency is thrilled to partner with a large, inclusive primary school in Brent to recruit an experienced and compassionate Senior School Welfare Officer. This pivotal role is perfect for a dedicated professional passionate about student well-being and ready to make a real difference in the lives of children.

Job Description

As the Senior School Welfare Officer, you will take a leadership role in promoting and safeguarding the health, safety, and emotional well-being of students. Your responsibilities will include:

Medical Care & First Aid:
Managing and administering first aid, including responding to emergencies promptly and professionally.
Developing, implementing, and maintaining individualized medical care plans for students with specific needs.
Ensuring compliance with health regulations and maintaining accurate medical records.
Emotional Well-being:
Providing one-to-one emotional support and guidance to students dealing with social, emotional, or mental health challenges.
Acting as a key contact for students requiring additional pastoral care.
Facilitating well-being workshops or small group interventions to promote resilience and positive mental health.
Family and Community Liaison:
Working closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure students receive holistic support tailored to their needs.
Maintaining clear communication channels between families and the school regarding welfare concerns.
Safeguarding:
Supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) by identifying and escalating concerns in line with safeguarding procedures.
Monitoring at-risk students and maintaining comprehensive records of interventions and support provided.
Policy Development and Implementation:
Reviewing and updating welfare and safeguarding policies to ensure best practices are upheld.
Leading training sessions for staff on welfare, mental health, and first aid awareness.
Administrative Duties:
Ensuring all records related to medical care, first aid, and welfare support are accurate, confidential, and up to date.
