Job type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary:  £49,171 - £52,585
Location: Home-Based

We are Nacro. We see your future, whatever the past.

We believe everyone deserves a good education, a safe and secure place to live, the right to be heard, and the chance to start again, with support from someone on their side.

That’s why our housing, education, justice, and health and wellbeing services work alongside people to give them the support and skills they need to succeed. And it’s why we fight for their voices to be heard and campaign together to create lasting change.

The role:

As the Head of Funding, Compliance, and MIS, you will take on a pivotal leadership position within Nacro’s Education Directorate. Reporting to the Principal and Director of Education, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational delivery of our funding, compliance, and MIS functions.

Your work will directly impact the lives of young people and apprentices, ensuring robust systems, data-driven insights, and compliance with funding and regulatory requirements. You will serve as Nacro’s key point of contact with the Department for Education (DfE), leading on funding submissions, audit preparations, and compliance activities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to innovate, shape strategy, and drive continuous improvement across our education provision, which includes direct delivery and subcontracted partners.

What we offer:

A senior leadership role where you can influence strategy and drive impact across the organisation.
The opportunity to lead and innovate in the areas of funding, compliance, and MIS.
A dynamic and inclusive work environment with a commitment to professional development.
The chance to shape data systems and processes to improve outcomes for young people and apprentices.
Flexibility with a home-based role that allows for work-life balance.
Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an exceptional leader with a passion for delivering excellence in education funding, compliance, and data management. You’ll be a natural collaborator, bringing teams together to innovate and improve systems that support young people facing barriers to education and training.

You will thrive in a role that demands strategic oversight, operational delivery, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Department for Education (DfE), the ESFA, and Ofsted.

What will I be doing as the Head of Funding, Compliance, and MIS?

As a senior leader within Nacro’s Education Directorate, you will:

Be the organisation’s key point of contact with the DfE on funding, audit, and compliance matters.
Lead and align the funding, compliance, and MIS functions to ensure robust and efficient systems and processes.
Oversee funding submissions, compliance activities, and audit preparations, ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
Drive data innovation, using insights to inform strategic decisions and improve student outcomes.
Represent Nacro during external audits and inspections, safeguarding the integrity of our funding and compliance activities.
Provide expert advice to senior leadership and stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
Essential requirements for this role:

Extensive knowledge of ESFA funding rules, DfE compliance, and audit processes.
Proven track record in managing MIS systems, data analysis, and reporting tools.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
Expertise in developing compliance systems, managing audits, and driving continuous improvement.
In-depth knowledge of the Further Education and Skills sector.
Desirable experience:

Familiarity with process automation and innovative digital solutions.
Knowledge of blended learning models and their integration into compliance frameworks.
