The Role: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Munich, Germany

Salary: €75K - €85K (DOE)

This is an exciting period for our client, as their current project transitions into the next critical phase of operations. To meet the evolving demands of this ambitious project, they are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to join them on a full-time permanent basis.

We are looking for an innovative engineer, who will be responsible for designing, developing and integrating advanced mechanical systems and products. The highly technically demanding nature of this role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary scientific and engineering teams to ensure the appropriate design approaches, engineering analysis, interface management and requirements definitions for the systems are delivered within an allocated timeline. In addition to proven technical ability and experience in complex large scale mechanical projects, you will present a track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams that successfully delivered the highest standards of engineering quality, performance, and reliability.

Your Responsibilities:

Design and integrate components, such as Vessel components and In Vessel components, ensuring that all design requirements and specifications are met.

Produce required technical documentation (e.g. design requirements, technical reports, procedures, procurement documents).

Use technical experience to identify and manage technical risk throughout the project lifecycle.

Set engineering standards and guidelines for engineering design, fabrication and installation.

Define relevant interfaces between plant systems to ensure effective integration.

Ensure the overall system design is optimised for performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness, and meet both industry standards and regulatory requirements

Your Skills & Experience:

A Postgraduate degree in mechanical engineering, PhD.

is preferred.

Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer

Strong experience in the use of CAD software and Finite Element analysis tools.

Experience in installation, manufacturing follow-up, and project management, preferably in large-scale engineering projects in the nuclear or energy industry.

Strong engineering background, with a solid knowledge of mechanical design principles and mechanical manufacturing processes.

Ability to work in a team and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Knowledge of a product data management system.

Experience in fusion power plant and design of In-Vessel Components would be beneficial.
