Cover Supervisors

V-Recruit are excited to be working in partnership with one of the UKs most forward thinking, recognised and respected Multi-Academy Trusts to recruit Cover Supervisors to start work in secondary schools in Doncaster, Sheffield and Rotherham, South Yorkshire as soon as possible.

We have permanent roles, and contract roles available.

Positions are generally 32 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term time plus 5 days) - £20,008.34 - £20,745.04 (Grade Salary)

£17,157.85 - £17,794.03 Actual Salary for Permanent roles

Contract roles are £90-£100 per day

Your overall responsibility will be to support the provision of high-quality cover lessons throughout the school, across all subjects in the absence of teaching staff. You will be required to supervise lessons of any subject, set high expectations to motivate and challenge students, whilst managing behaviour effectively and promoting a positive learning environment.

Other duties will include but will not be limited to;

* Delivering lesson plans and supervising the students on work left by the class teacher

* Assisting in preparing the learning environment and the materials therein

* Assisting with the management of behaviour in and out of lessons, to ensure constructive working environments, in line with the Trusts behaviour policy

* Leaving all classrooms used in good order at the end of the lessons, and collecting all work completed, ensuring that it is passed on to an agreed member of staff

* Recording and reporting attendance at lessons in accordance with the academy’s policy

* Working as part of a busy cover team, taking calls and messages from the staff absent line, ensuring this is passed over to HR accordingly and sufficient cover is arranged

* Liaising with internal staff and external parties (i.e. recruitment agencies) to ensure that no lesson is without suitable cover that day/week

* Completing all associated administrative tasks, such as data input on SIMS, completing/authorising timesheet and completing cover allocation appropriately

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience within a similar role or be looking to begin an exciting career within teaching. Candidates must have excellent communication skills, be dynamic and have the energy required for this exciting but challenging role.

We are looking for someone with a good standard of education, including at least Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, with good general knowledge across multiple subjects, who is passionate about making a positive impacts and significant differences to the lives of students within the academy.
