Our Water company client are seeking a WINEP Project Manager to join their Water Resource team in hybrid working arrangement based out of Havant.

The role is permanent reporting to a Water Resource Manager and a Catchment & Environment Manager. The role will have 1 direct report with an Investigation Support Officer. The candidate will work with water resource staff, procurement and act as an interface between consultancy support. External contact will include other water companies, regulatory authorities, local groups and the Water Resource South East (WRSE) partners. The role has been formed to ensure the successful delivery of the companies' Water Resource WINEP investigation Programme.

Responsibilities

Manage the appointed contractor(s) to deliver the Water Resource WINEP programme to ensure safe and timely delivery by the agreed regulatory output dates and in accordance with the agreed budgets and levels of quality required by environmental Regulators. Specifically, this will include:

Control and reporting of costs and schedule
Technical coordination
Facilitate liaison with key internal staff and external bodies
Identification, reporting and management of key risks
Control and management of contract change
Undertaking role of Service Manager under NEC4 Professional Services Contract (PSC)

Lead liaison with Southern Water, with regard to aspects of the AMP8 WINEP programme that they are leading. This would include attendance of project Steering Group meetings.

Support the Water Resource WRMP24 and WRMP29 programme, including through programme development and management of the process.

Assisting with WRMP tasks, including but not limited to those associated with options appraisal

Technical engagement with environmental Regulators (primarily Environment Agency and Natural England) to ensure successful completion of the WINEP programme.

Managing 8 projects simultaneously
Liaising with contractor and contractors' team in delivering and processing project
Define timescales
Requesting data and info from stakeholders and third parties
Collating info and storing
Records management

Skills/experience/qualifications

Project Management Experience, particularly for environmental study type work
Sound scientific and technical skills in water quality and / or ecological impact appraisal
Proven ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent and demonstrable administration and organisation skills
Sound computer literacy skills, particularly Microsoft Office 365 and associated tools
Basic geological and hydrogeological understanding
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
A degree (or equivalent) in an environmental science/water resources or related discipline, Geography, ecology related.
More than 5 years' experience working in an environmental assessment or regulatory role or similar, ideally in a project / technical leadership or project management role.
