HGV Class-1 Driver – Covered Car Transporter

Location: Corby (Sywell) Northamptonshire

Salary: £38,000 basic plus occasional Overtime and Nights Out Allowance. Most drivers earn circa £45K

Shifts: Monday to Friday with occasional overtime/overnights

We are recruiting on the behalf of a well-established vehicle delivery company based in the Corby area, the company is run by people who have vast experience of the industry the company is growing and going from strength to strength.

The Role:

The successful applicant will play their part in providing a high-end vehicle delivery service, offering collection and deliveries of prestige motor vehicles across the UK and Europe (Euro trips optional).

You will be using a fleet of enclosed car transporters to carry out your daily duties of vehicle delivery and handover.

The key tasks that the successful candidate will be undertaking are:

* The timely & safe delivery of customer vehicles by ensuring they are secured correctly within the transporters.

* A good eye for detail is paramount and you must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills for this high end, customer facing role.

* All legislation in relation to tachograph and driver’s hours must be followed.

* As a Brand Ambassador you will be smart and presentable.

* You will have a customer first approach and will be excited about the essential part you play in making your customer’s ‘New Car Day’ a special and immersive experience.

What kind of person we are looking for?:

The successful candidate will need to hold a valid C+E (Class 1) driving licence and have a minimum of 1 years driving experience and no more than 6 points for minor SP offences this is for insurance purposes, a valid CPC and tacho card is also required.

Candidates will have a DBS check completed on them and will undergo a drug and alcohol test and will need to demonstrate their ability to:

* Communicate clearly.

* Deliver excellent customer service.

* Be confident using technology, some cars are hi-tech EV’s which you will be trained on how to operate in order to demonstrate to customers on “New Car Day”.

* Be a brand ambassador and be well presented at all times.

* Follow processes and procedures.

* Complete written and digital vehicle handovers for both the customer and the company.

* Follow all legislation regarding tachograph and driving hours.

* Previous Class 1 Car Transporter Driving experience is preferred but is not essential as training will be provided to the right candidate.
