Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major Highways project in Carlisle. This is a freelance opportunity offering the chance to play a pivotal role in a high-profile infrastructure project while enjoying the flexibility and benefits of working outside IR35.

Key Responsibilities:
·Manage and oversee all aspects of commercial and contractual activities on the project.
·Provide accurate cost management, forecasting, and reporting.
·Lead on contract administration and ensure compliance with NEC contracts.
·Identify, evaluate, and manage project risks and opportunities.
·Ensure timely submission of valuations and applications for payment.
·Prepare, negotiate, and agree variations, claims, and final accounts.
·Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of the project.
 
Key Requirements:
·Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in a Tier 1 contracting environment.
·Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts is essential.
·Previous experience in the Highways sector is highly desirable.
·Exceptional commercial acumen and attention to detail.
·Strong negotiation and communication skills.
·Ability to work independently and efficiently in a freelance capacity.
