About Us:
We are leading the way in renewable energy innovation as we develop the UK’s first geothermal power plant at United Downs, near Redruth, Cornwall. With two deep wells successfully drilled, the power plant is now entering its commissioning phase. Alongside this, we are embarking on an exciting project to establish a lithium demonstration plant, leveraging the naturally occurring lithium in geothermal brine.

Role Overview:

As a Process Chemist, you will:

* Operate and refine the lithium process demonstration plant.

* Contribute to the design and construction of a commercial-scale lithium production facility.

* Collaborate with power plant staff to manage corrosion and scaling issues.

* Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

This role will be based on-site in Cornwall and offers a unique opportunity to work on innovative projects within a growing team committed to net-zero carbon by 2030.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

* A degree in chemistry or chemical engineering.

* At least three years of experience in extractive chemistry or a related field.

* Familiarity with hydrometallurgical processes or chemical interactions in technical innovations.

* Proven ability in design development and risk assessment for chemical processes.

* Experience managing laboratory processes.

* Knowledge of Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) methods, such as ion-exchange or adsorption.

Desirable:

* Passion for renewable energy and Cornwall’s transition to net-zero carbon.

* Ability to thrive in a results-driven team and adapt to a fast-moving environment.

* Strong organizational skills to meet tight deadlines and budgets.

Why Join Us?

This is an important role within a team pioneering geothermal and lithium innovations in the UK. You’ll be part of a project demonstrating Cornwall’s ability to lead in sustainable energy and resource production.

What We Offer:

* A competitive salary, based on your skills and experience.

* The chance to work in a cutting-edge renewable energy environment.

.

We’re committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. If you think you have the skills for the role but don’t meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply and tell us why you’re the perfect candidate.
