Are you an experienced and ambitious professional looking to progress in your career? Our client, an established and well-regarded provider of residential childcare, is seeking a Deputy Manager for their 8-bed Learning Disabilities (LD) home in Sutton Coldfield. This role offers a genuine pathway to becoming a Registered Manager, with new homes planned to open within the next 6–12 months.

About the Role:

As Deputy Manager, you will work alongside the Registered Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support for children and young people with Learning Disabilities. This is a unique opportunity to develop your leadership skills and prepare for future management responsibilities in a growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

Assist in recruiting, training, and supporting a dedicated care team.

Foster a positive and professional workplace culture.

Care Delivery:

Oversee the care and support of young people, ensuring a person-centred approach.

Develop and review tailored care plans to meet individual needs.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:

Support the Registered Manager in maintaining compliance with Ofsted regulations.

Contribute to monitoring and improving service quality through audits and reviews.

Operational Support:

Help manage staffing, rotas, and day-to-day operations of the home.

Step up to manage the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.

Career Progression:

Gain hands-on experience and leadership training to prepare for a Registered Manager role.

Play a key role in shaping the development and operation of new homes.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Deputy Manager or Senior Support Worker in a residential childcare or LD setting.

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent); Level 5 in Leadership and Management is desirable or willingness to work towards it.

Strong understanding of Learning Disabilities and person-centred care.

Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.

A genuine ambition to progress into a Registered Manager role.
