About the role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) specialising in Challenging Behaviours, you’ll play a vital role in providing tailored support for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils. This role focuses on children with unique behavioural needs, helping them navigate their educational journey with confidence and success.

You’ll work closely with the school’s SENCO, classroom teachers, and other support staff to implement strategies that address challenging behaviours and encourage positive outcomes. Patience, resilience, and a creative approach are key as you build trusting relationships with pupils and create a safe, engaging learning environment.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working with children with SEN, particularly those exhibiting challenging behaviours.

• A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners.

• Ability to use positive behaviour management strategies effectively.

• A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

• Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the academic, emotional, and social development of pupils with challenging behaviours.

• Implement behaviour management strategies in collaboration with the SENCO and teaching staff.

• Assist in delivering tailored interventions and activities to meet individual needs

.• Monitor and report pupil progress to staff and parents as required.

• Foster an inclusive and safe classroom environment where every child feels valued.
