Design Manager – Data Centres – Munich

Our client is a €2bn turnover, Tier:1 main contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake major, complex schemes with a particular emphasis on Data Centres, Pharmaceutical and Life Science projects

Due to continued growth in the region of their Data Centre projects division, our client is now seeking an experienced Design Manager.

Responsibilities:

Design Development and Oversight: Lead the design process from conceptualization through to detailed design for all aspects of the data centre, including architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. Ensure designs meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and budget constraints.

Coordination of Design Teams: Manage and coordinate input from all design disciplines (architectural, structural, MEP) to ensure a fully integrated, functional, and cost-effective design solution. Ensure all design teams work efficiently and harmoniously.

Client Liaison and Requirements Gathering: Interface with clients to understand their needs, project goals, and technical requirements. Ensure the design aligns with the client’s vision, business objectives, and industry best practices.

Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure that designs comply with relevant local, national, and international standards, building codes, and environmental regulations. Implement quality control processes to maintain high design standards.

Design Schedule and Budget Management: Manage the design schedule, ensuring that design milestones are met on time and within budget. Monitor design progress, and proactively address any delays, budget overruns, or scope changes.

Risk Management and Problem Resolution: Identify potential design-related risks early and develop mitigation strategies. Resolve conflicts and issues that arise during the design phase, ensuring that the project continues to move forward without delays.

Requirements:

* Engineering Bachelor's degree (Electrical or Mechanical preferred, Architectural / Structural / Civil could be acceptable).

* Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in the Construction industry.

* Data Centre experience is advantageous

Benefits:

€100,000-€110,000 per annum + full rotational package
