HSSE Manager -Port Terminals

Position: HSSE Manager - Port Terminals
Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands
Salary: €(Apply online only)k annually (experience depending) plus company car, 30 holidays, etc.

Objective: To provide expert guidance on health, safety, and environmental matters, ensuring alignment with business objectives and adherence to group policies. This role involves overseeing all HSSE functions at the local level while collaborating with international teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct the HSSE teams at multiple terminals, ensuring alignment with the strategic focus and priorities of the organization.
Participate in management teams, contributing to strategic discussions and decisions.
Develop and lead comprehensive safety programs aimed at preventing accidents and minimizing risks to employees, visitors, and the environment.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Deliver regular safety training and awareness sessions to employees.
Drive initiatives to enhance understanding and application of safety principles.
Conduct inspections to identify and address unsafe practices or behaviors among staff.
Report on HSSE performance to relevant internal and external stakeholders, including international groups and terminal management.
Support incident and accident investigations, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Assist in the development, evaluation, and maintenance of emergency and contingency plans for employees and contractors.
Represent the terminals in HSSE-related matters to external stakeholders.
Collaborate with the Group HSSE Director and other HSSE managers to integrate group-wide programs and initiatives.
Lead and contribute to HSSE-related projects locally and across the organization.
Foster a safety-focused culture where open discussions, proactive risk management, and reporting of incidents and near misses are encouraged.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Technical, Safety, Environmental studies, or a related field. (Preferred)
Over 10 years of experience in leading HSSE functions or similar roles, ideally within the dry bulk storage and handling industry or similar hands-on industries
Dutch Fluency is mandatory
