Materials Buyer

Port Talbot

Are you a procurement professional with a passion for detail and efficiency?

We are seeking a Materials Buyer to join our long term client’s team and play a critical role in their supply chain operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

* Collaborate with functional teams to ensure procured goods meet required standards.

* Process Purchase Orders efficiently to meet/exceed delivery schedules and targets.

* Lead tendering activities

* Create and maintain robust supply contracts with regular reviews.

* Ensure all procurement documentation aligns with company policies.

* Work closely with the Accounts Department to resolve invoice queries.

* Assist in maintaining and updating the supplier database.

* Promote and uphold corporate policies and values.

* Manage a diverse supply base across Europe, China, India and the USA

* Expedite order deliveries when necessary.

The person

The ideal candidate will possess:

* Proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP/MRP systems.

* Ideally you will have a business qualification but prior experience in a similar procurement role is acceptable.

* Familiarity with working within a business with robust change control processes.

* The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

* Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

* The ability to work independently and deliver results within prescribed guidelines.

* A CIPS Diploma (highly advantageous).
