Senior Outerwear Garment Technologist

Leading High St Supplier - London

Hybrid - 2 days wfh/3 days in office

Full time/Perm

Senior Outerwear Garment Technologist Role:

A leading high street supplier is looking to recruit a Senior Outerwear Garment Technologist. You will be responsible for ensuring the product range is delivered on time and quality is fit for purpose. Supporting the Technical manager and working with the product & design teams to deliver a commercial range. You will be an experienced Women's Senior Outerwear Garment Technologist and also cover men's & children.

Responsibilities:

* Ensure product performance requirements are established and maintained through supplier up skilling, testing and monitoring

* Agree manufacturing methods are achievable in bulk production

* Apply appropriate methods of communication with supply base, showing initiative and creative thinking where necessary to solve problems

* Prepare fit comments / size specs and graded size specs for the factory

* Working with the Outerwear dept to prepare specs/patterns/diagrams

* Supplier visits to improve quality standards, working relationships and increase personal knowledge of manufacturing capabilities

Key Skills / Experience:

* Garment/Fabric Technologist QA/QC/ PD experience working at an advanced level, ideally for a fashion supplier or High Street retailer

* Knowledge of garment construction, pattern cutting and fitting process

* Strong knowledge of fabric testing standards & care labels for Outerwear

* Experience working with Microsoft Office, PLM / Centric an advantage

* Knowledge of developing product for fit, quality and performance

* Knowledge of garment wash techniques/ processes

* Ability to effectively risk analyse product

* Expert knowledge of consumer product safety requirements to ensure compliance that is commercial & adherence to legal requirements

* Innovative & analytical thinking, seeking opportunities & problem solving
