Company Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Power & Civils Distribution division for an Electrical Surveyor to join a dynamic and growing team. This permanent position is based in Kilmarnock and is tied to a long-term framework for modernising rising and lateral mains under SP Energy Networks (SPEN). The framework offers stability with a projected five-year timeline, with further future opportunities expected.

Role Overview

The Electrical Surveyor will travel throughout East Ayrshire, assessing properties scheduled for electrical upgrade works. The role involves inspecting and planning the work required for internal and external cable upgrades, providing accurate measurements, and documenting findings.

Key Responsibilities

* Survey properties to assess electrical work requirements for upgrades to rising and lateral mains.

* Inspect cables connecting to internal cutouts and determine internal and external cabling needs.

* Measure and plan cable routes, both internal and external, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

* Capture photographic evidence of existing cutouts and external cable routes for project documentation.

* Liaise with project teams to ensure surveys are completed efficiently and to the required standard.

Key Requirements

Essential:

* A recognised electrical qualification such as ECS, SJIB, or JIB.

* Strong understanding of internal electrical systems.

* Experience in surveying or working as an electrician (at any career stage).

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple site visits.

Desirable:

* Experience with rising and lateral mains or power distribution frameworks.

* Familiarity with modernisation and upgrade projects within the utilities sector.

* Previous experience as an electrical improver or similar role.
