Overview
Our client, based in the Netherlands, is pushing the boundaries of innovation and precision in the design and engineering of bespoke superyachts. They are looking for a talented engineer to join their dynamic team and help transform cutting-edge designs into reality. With a focus on mechanical engineering, naval architecture, and custom-built yacht construction, you will have the chance to work on some of the most exciting projects in the industry, blending creativity with technical expertise.

As the Project Engineer - Structural, you will be a vital part of the team, contributing to the structural, mechanical, and naval architecture of these extraordinary vessels. This is your chance to make a significant impact on the future of superyacht engineering.

The Role
As a key member of our multi-disciplinary project teams, you will be at the forefront of innovation. Your responsibilities will include:

Developing the main construction plans and global structural designs
Representing your discipline and ensuring seamless integration across our designs
Maintaining a clear overview between the main lines and finer details of the process
Coordinating with shipyards, owner teams, classification societies, and suppliers to ensure everything runs smoothly
Bringing your expertise in 3D CAD systems to create innovative solutions
Proactively devising solutions for integrating complex components
Taking responsibility for strength and stiffness calculations to ensure the highest standards
Overseeing quality control to deliver projects to the highest specifications
Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
Communicating effectively across teams, ensuring clarity and precision
Assessing the feasibility of designs and overseeing detailed engineering and shell construction
Bringing a positive, creative, and organised outlook to every aspect of the projectRequirements

A relevant higher education degree
Over 5 years of experience in shipbuilding engineering, with several years as a Structural Engineer
Expertise in 3D PAD, PLM, and/or FEM
Knowledge of ship design for passenger vessels and/or superyachts (50+ metres)
A thorough understanding of safety regulations (LR, REG LY code, SOLAS), FEM, and vibration analysis
A strong command of the English language (written and spoken)
