Duration: 6 months +
Rate: £55 - £60 p/h (outside IR35)
Hybrid working: Knutsford
Our client are an engineering design and project management company who specialise in projects across the nuclear sector.

They currently require an EC&I Engineer to join their team and support with a variety of projects within the nuclear sector.

Within this role you will liaise closely with engineering designers and draughtspersons within the projects group in the development of company Safety services, involving Safety Instrumentation System Design, Verification, Validation and Functional Safety Assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring the EC&I Deliverables produced by the Projects Group are to the correct quality, standard and procedure.
Creation of project documentation (specifications, control philosophy, cause and effect, alarm lists, inspection and test plans).
Input to Design Reviews and Risk Assessments.
Familiarity with PLCs (Siemens/AB).
Experience with Profibus, ProfiNet and Modbus communication protocols.
Cable specification and design in accordance with BS 7671/IEC 60364/BS EN 61439.
Assist the EC&I Lead with deliverables, take on responsibility for self-development.
Proactively engage with customers internally and externally, developing and maintaining strong, positive business relationships.
Experience/Qualifications:

Ideally educated to a degree level, with a minimum of HNC / HND in Electrical, Control or Instrumentation Engineering or an associated discipline.
Experience in the petrochemicals, Chemicals or renewable energy industries.
Experience of working in a design and engineering environment across electrical, control and instrumentation.
Scopes of Work, Method Statements, Schedules, Single Line Diagrams, Block Cable Diagrams, Risk Assessments, Technical Files.
Experience in the use of AMTECH or ETAP engineering and design software is beneficial.
Knowledge of working with LV distribution, Control systems, Networks and Architecture.
Knowledge of working with 3Ph Motors, Drives and MCC panels.
Ideally have an awareness of High Voltage design and engineering.
Experience using 2D AutoCAD package.
Knowledge of DSEAR/ATEX, hazardous area classification equipment/design.
Able to perform accurate design calculations and complete cost estimates.
Experienced in safety systems design and validation (BS EN 61508 and BS EN 61511).
An ability to think strategically and understanding the implication of changes to contract scope.
An ability to work collaboratively with all engineering design and construction disciplines.
Knowledge or experience of working in the US or Europe would be beneficial.
Understanding of Designer and Principal Designer Roles under CDM.
